Katie Price has told of her heartbreak after deciding it would best for her disabled son Harvey if he went into full-time care.

The 18-year-old – who was born with multiple disabilities including partial blindness, Prader-Willi syndrome and autism – is set to move into a residential college later this year.

Price, 42, told The Sun it was emotional to think of not seeing her son every day and that the decision was very tough.

But the mum-of-five said it was the “best thing” for Harvey, whose dad is footballer Dwight Yorke, as it will help to give him the skills he needs to lead an independent life in the future. She also hopes it will give him the chance to make friends.

“It breaks my heart,” she said.

“I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.”

Price went on: “It’s so upsetting to think I won’t see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.

“This is his chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialise with people other than me.”

Price and Harvey have been viewing potential places suitable for the teen and believe they have found the right one in Gloucestershire.
