Katie Price reached 'crisis point' before deciding to put disabled son Harvey into care

Katie Price has opened up about the “crisis point” she reached before deciding to put her disabled son Harvey into full-time care.
The 18-year-old – who was born with multiple disabilities including partial blindness, Prader-Willi syndrome and autism – is set to move into a residential college later this year.
Price, 42, has now shared that she made the tough decision after Harvey started to become destructive because he didn’t want to be away from her.
“The crisis point was the point that my windows were getting smashed every morning, and it’s dangerous for him, because he wanted to be with me,” she told BBC Radio 4's Women’s hour.

“He knew, because he was big and strong, that he’d smash a window and then the driver wouldn’t have him in the car because he’d go and smash the windscreen of the car, or he’d start attacking the driver.
“He’d do that because he knew if he did that, he’d be at home with me because they wouldn’t take him to school."
The mum-of-five said Harvey was also waking everyone up at night and raided cupboards for food.
She went on: “And then he’d be waking the kids up all the time, then he’d go for the kids, and it was just like, a danger to him, not fair on the kids because you don’t want them worried or anything like that. So then it was a crisis.”

Price recently told The Sun it was emotional to think of not seeing her son every day and that the decision had been very difficult.
But she said it was the “best thing” for Harvey, whose dad is footballer Dwight Yorke, as it would help to give him the skills to lead an independent life in the future and would give him the chance to make friends.

Price is also mum to son Junior, 15 and daughter Princess, 13, from her former relationship with Peter Andre, and son Jett seven, and daughter Bunny, six, with her ex Kieran Hayler.
