Katie Holmes owns the sandals of the summer
As New York slowly opens up again following lockdown, Katie Holmes has been spotted out and about enjoying some down time in her home city.
Holmes, who lives in Manhattan with Suri Cruise, the 13-year-old daughter she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, has been photographed picking up shopping, running errands and strolling in the sunshine. And each time she steps out, she's wearing a mask (currently mandatory in New York) and her favourite sandals.
The actor owns a pair of black Birkenstock Arizona sandals. With adjustable double straps, a relaxed wide-fit and the supportive, contoured sole Birkenstock is known for, they're a staple among fashion editors and celebrities for day-to-day style and comfort. Plus, they last and last, so are worth the investment.
Holmes' Birkenstocks are versatile, too. So far she's worn them with a black summer dress and high-waisted jeans and a pussybow blouse. They'd also work well with shorts and midi skirts. That's probably why the shoe is fast-becoming summer 2020's favourite sandal.
While the former Dawson's Creek star has opted for classic black leather, the Arizona is also available in several different colourways and materials, such as suede.
