Can you ever really know a celebrity? Apparently not, because weeks after Anne Hathaway revealed she actually wants to be known as Annie, Katherine Heigl says she goes by a different name in her day to day life.

The Firefly Lane and Suits actress, 42, was chatting on The Drew Barrymore Show about how she separates her personal and professional personas, revealing no one close to her calls her Katherine. Instead, she goes by Katie.

Is this like when mums are the only people to use your full name when they're angry?

"No one calls me Katherine," the actress revealed. "It sounds much more sophisticated right? Like an adult named Katherine. It helps me separate my work from me if that makes sense. I just had to embrace it."

When Drew Barrymore asked "Do you feel like you have those two women running around inside you?" Katherine/Katie replied, "I do feel that way. I feel like I can present as Katherine when I need to but most of the time I am just Katie."

Well, you learn something new every day.

This comes as Anne Hathaway recently revealed she wants to be known as Annie during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. "Call me Annie. Everybody, call me Annie, please. Can we talk about my name for a second?"

She explained that when filling out an official form early on in her career, she gave her full legal name, Anne Hathaway. "That seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people would call me Anne," Annie (?) continued. "The only person who ever calls me ‘Anne’ is my mother, and she only does it when she’s really mad at me, like, really mad.

"Every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me. Call me anything but Anne."
