Kate Winslet's new show, Mare Of Easttown, is drawing a crowd, with many comparing it to Happy Valley thanks to its thrilling and twisty-turny storyline. The actress recently opened up about what it was like to film, referencing a specific sex scene for one of her co-stars.

Speaking in February on the How I Found My Voice podcast, Winslet explained that she hid in the boot of a car in support of actor Angourie Rice, 20, who was filming an intimate scene.

As the scene did not require nudity, an 'intimacy coordinator' (someone who typically oversees scenes of a sexual nature to make the cast and crew feel comfortable) wasn't called upon. But Kate says she wanted to be on hand anyway, when Angourie had to get up close and personal with another actor.

"I just got the sense that she was nervous,” Winslet said. “I said to her, ‘I’m going to be around for this, I’m going to stay, I won’t leave the set’. She said, ‘Thank god Kate, thank you so much!’”

The scene took place in a car, so Kate hid herself where the camera couldn't see. "I ended up being in the boot of the car," she continued. "I knew it would make them feel better to have that one person who would be able to put their hand up and say, ‘Actually we need to cut now, is everyone feeling OK?’"

The series is set in Pennsylvania, where it follows Mare Sheehan (Winslet), a local hero and detective who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of a young girl amid mounting media pressure to solve the case. Meanwhile, Mare is struggling with a hectic home life, and must balance the demands of the case with trying to keep her life from falling apart.
