Since joining the royal family in 2011, the Duchess of Cambridge has toured Canada, India, Bhutan, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Luxembourg and more on behalf of Britain. But an upcoming royal tour, announced today, will see the 35-year-old visit Poland and Germany on official state business for the first time.
Kate will travel with Prince William for the five-day tour, which is taking place at the request of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, but it’s not been announced whether their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte will accompany them. The young royals, now aged three and two respectively, were involved in the Duke and Duchess’ visit to Canada last year and hit headlines on numerous occasions thanks to their adorable antics.
The couple will arrive in Poland on 17 July 2017 and depart from Germany on 21 July 2017.
So, what can we expect Kate to pack? The mum-of-two is known for dressing very appropriately when abroad and often gives a cultural nod to countries by wearing pieces by local designers. For example, during a visit to the Taj Mahal, the royal dressed in a piece by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan. And a game of cricket in a park in Mumbai saw Kate don a dress by Anita Dongre, another Indian designer.
Perhaps, in Germany, we’ll see the Duchess wearing styles by natives Jill Sander or Karl Lagerfeld, in addition to some lesser-known German names. And we look forward to being schooled on the fashion designers from Poland we should all know about.
In the meantime, we’ll whet our appetite by looking back at Kate’s most memorable tour outfits to date.
