Kate Spade's Husband Pays Tribute To The Late Designer
Kate Spade's husband, Andy Spade, just posted a photo on Instagram in remembrance of his late wife who passed away on Tuesday, June 5. On Instagram, Andy shared a sweet story about how Kate was born on Christmas Eve and how he and their 13-year-old daughter, Bea, decorated a desert tree with lights like they do every Christmas.
In the caption, he wrote:
"She was born Christmas Eve, 1962. She loved the Midwest, the desert, and the city. I was lucky enough to have dear friends let my daughter and stay at their home through a difficult time. This tree was standing alone beside the house so we ordered those multicolored, old fashioned lights from Amazon or Target and another dear personal friend gave me a really Iong extension cord and Bea and I cut a star out of the cardboard box the lights came on and wrapped it in Reynolds wrap (TM) like we do every Christmas."

Kate and Andy met while working at a Phoenix, Arizona clothing store while they were both in college, and they founded the Kate Spade New York label together in 1993. At the time of Kate's passing, Andy released a statement that read, "Kate was the most beautiful woman in the world. She was the kindest person I’ve ever known and my best friend for 35 years."
