Kate Middleton's latest outfit was basically a green screen and Twitter had *fun* with it
Kate Middleton is known for her always-on-point looks. But, even the most fashion forward of us make mistakes sometimes, which is exactly what happened to the royal this weekend when she wore a green dress to the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony, leading Twitter users to have a lot of fun...
To recap, Kate and Prince William headed to the US last week to mark the second annual Earthshot Prize. At the awards ceremony, there was a green carpet and guests were asked to be eco-friendly in their fashion choices by not buying new gowns or suits for the event. As such, the Princess of Wales embraced the theme by slipping on a rented, bright green gown – which basically turned out to be a wearable green screen.
"Oh my god, she is in a green screen-like-dress — were her stylists not aware of THE INTERNET? The amount of visual effects that are going to be plastered on her…" one concerned royal fan tweeted, as someone else said: "This outfit choice simply highlights that her stylist doesn’t understand the internet."

Elsewhere, people took the opportunity and ran with it, editing Kate's dress however they saw fit. One person transformed the Princess' dress into a gown of baked beans, as someone else turned the royal into a pepperoni pizza and a third replaced her dress with a plate of avocado on toast – very millenial! "The internet did not hold back," another royal fan tweeted alongside a compilation of edited images.
Ah well, every lesson is a blessing, eh Kate?
