Kate Middleton looked the picture of summer elegance in an on-trend pink suit as she hosted a special event at the Royal Institution in London on Thursday (16 June).

The Duchess of Cambridge led a round table with government ministers, including Health Secretary Sajid Javid, and the early years sector to mark the release of new research from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood all about the importance of early child development and its links to mental health. Kate has long been a champion of the importance of early childhood development.

Her stunning blush pink suit couldn't have been more perfect for the London heat as the capital basks in a heatwave. It's thought to hail from one of the duchess' go-to designer labels, Alexander McQueen with the ice pink Alex Wool Blazer, £1,370, and the matching £640 Alex Peg Leg Trousers still available to shop online.

Kate wore the on-trend suit over a simple white cami, completing her look with coordinating pink pumps, and diamond jewellery by Mappin & Webb.

Her highlighted dark hair was worn down in a classic blow-dry, while her flawless makeup complemented her outfit to perfection, particularly thanks to the light pink lipstick and soft blusher she chose.

A pink suit is one of this season's hero buys, working just as well for the office as for a summer wedding. The best bit about owning one? You can also mix and match both pieces, wearing them as separates to create multiple looks.
