Kate Middleton wearing anything from the high street is relatively rare, but last night she visited the London Ambulance Service 111 control room in Croydon wearing a pink co-ord trouser suit from our high street lord and saviour M&S - and somehow, it's not completely out of stock. A miracle, indeed.
The duchess wore one of the brand's hero looks for the royal engagement, which she styled with a plain cream t-shirt and metallic court shoes. Here's a look at the ensemble:
It's always relatively unusual to see Kate in trousers, so her very on-trend suit is a pleasant surprise indeed, and perfect for the occasion. While she may otherwise have chosen a less stand-out look to avoid talk of her outfit, the duchess struck the perfect chord of serious but stylish, bringing some much-needed optimism. And the fact that it's high street, and therefore accessible to many? Royal genius.
Unsurprisingly, many sizes (it comes in 6-24) are sold out online - but it's not completely out of stock, so you might just be in luck if you shop, like, now.
During their visit, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met staff who have been taking NHS 111 calls from the public during the coronavirus outbreak, and thanked them for the vital work they are doing.
Prince William said: "Not only are NHS staff and emergency workers responding to the needs of the public, they – like the rest of us – are concerned about their families, friends and loved ones. They need our support as much as we need theirs.
"That is why Catherine and I were proud to visit staff working at NHS 111, to pass on our personal thanks, along with those of my grandmother and father, to staff working around the clock to provide care and advice to those that need it most."
