Kate Middleton Wears a Traditional Chitrali Hat and Shawl in Chitral, Pakistan
Prince William and Kate Middleton began the third day of their royal tour of Pakistan with a trip to Chitral, in the Hindu Kush region.
Upon their arrival, the couple were given traditional Chitrali hats, which Kate was photographed trying on.

According to The Sun's royal correspondent, Emily Andrews, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received several gifts on their arrive in Chitral, including traditional Chitrali hats, an embroidered coat for William, and a shawl for Kate.
"Kate and William are given traditional Chitrali hats as they land in Chitral the Hindu Khush, near the Afghan border. William was also given a highly embroidered coat and Kate a warm shawl. #RoyalVisitPakistan," she wrote on Twitter.

During the visit to Chitral, the couple will also see the effects of climate change on the country's glaciers.
"Today William and Kate have flown north to see for themselves some of the beauty of the country but also the effects of climate change on glacial regions," the Daily Mail's royal correspondent, Rebecca English, tweeted. "They were also given a book commemorating Princess Diana’s 1991 visit."

The Duke and Duchess were also presented with another special gift during the engagement—a book commemorating Princess Diana's visit to the country in 1991.
"William & Kate were given a book of photos of Princess Diana’s visit here in 1991," Andrews explained on Twitter. "The Cambridges have now got back into their helicopter to visit the Chiatibo Glacier in Broghil National Park."

Diana also received a traditional Chitrali hat during her visit to Pakistan in the '90s.
