Kate Middleton Wears Matthew Williamson At The UK Premiere Of 'African Cats'

Here's a sweet sight to brighten a drizzly day: Kate Middleton and Prince William taking a trip to the cinema. Aww! BUT this isn't a romantic date as part of their wedding anniversary celebrations – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are taking a special trip to the British Film Institute for the UK premiere of 'African Cats'.

Why? you may well ask. Well, Wills has been a Royal Patron of the Tusk Trust conservation charity since 2005 and the Disney documentary – which tells the story of a family of cheetahs and a pride of lions – hopes to raise awareness and funds. What good Cambridges they are! They're expected to join 100 children for the exclusive screening at Southbank tonight (where the April showers are persisting) and Wills is due to give a short speech any. minute. now.

So what's Kate wearing? A sleek grey two-piece with a peplum waist (yes, more peplums!) plus turquoise embellishments on the neckline and sleeves that work perfectly with the film's African vibe. How lovely to see such a vibrant dash of colour, eh? The ensemble comes from Matthew Williamson's Pre-Fall 2012 collection and Grazia Daily has heard that the Brit designer knew the DoC was planning on wearing the dress to a high-profile occasion, but hadn't had confirmation of when exactly she'd crack it out.

As well as walking the red carpet with her brolly-bearing hubby, Princess Catherine accessorised the look with a pair of blue topaz and diamond pair earrings from her favourite jewellery designer, Kiki McDonough, matching shoes and clutch from Emmy Shoes.

During the Princes' trip to the Falklands earlier this year, we didn't get one glimpse of the royal couple together so it's a right old treat to see them reunited (praise be for those genius waxworks that kept us going in the meantime). The Duchess did a marvellous job at continuing her royal duties in her husband's absence, stepping out in a green coat dress by Emilia Wickstead on St Patrick's Day, playing a spot of hockey in a pair of colour-popping jeans and nailing her first public speech while wearing her mum's Reiss dress.
