Kate Middleton spotted out cycling in the park with Prince Louis

Kate Middleton might have a very important role in the royal family that means she'll be Queen one day, but that doesn't stop her from going out and doing totally normal things when she can. Previously, we've shared with you the time the Duchess of Cambridge took her children on a museum day trip during half-term, and the time she was snapped out and about with her family and their new puppy. And now it seems she's been getting some cycling practice in with youngest son, Prince Louis.

The weather has been pretty hit and miss in London lately, but Kate and Louis must have spotted a break in the clouds and taken the opportunity to make the most of it with a cycling trip to Hyde Park, close to their Kensington Palace home. Twitter user Mayleen Ramey took to the social media site to document her "random" but "epic" run in with the two royals, who she says she "almost collided" with accidentally.

"It started as a grumpy day. I was stressed and sleep-deprived, grumbling to myself as a dragged my sleepy bum to dance class in Hyde Park," posted Mayleen. But things quickly took a turn to become way more exciting. "As I was approaching the Queen’s Gate entrance, I see a young boy on a bike racing towards me on the sidewalk, while gleefully saying 'I can’t go slower!' as his Mom chases inches behind."

As she does when she sees any child, Mayleen explained that she said an enthusiastic 'hello!' to the little boy, before realising that he and his mum had "faces I’ve seen thousands of times."

"I then notice a breathless, masked man in a suit running after the two, clearly having been outpaced," Mayleen continued in her Twitter thread. "I stop for a second to register this random, magical, royal moment... as I’ve just had an almost literal run-in with HRH Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince [Louis]."

Mayleen originally wrote that it was Prince George she'd seen cycling, but Twitter followers rightly pointed out that the seven-year-old would have been in school at the time, so it was much more likely to be his younger brother, three-year-old Louis. And that would also be in keeping with a photograph the Cambridges shared earlier this year of their youngest son, who's clearly a big fan of bikes...

In celebration of his third birthday, William and Kate released a photograph of little Prince Louis beaming as he sat atop a bright red bicycle. The picture was taken a few days previously, on Louis' first day at nursery, and in it he looks pretty eager there to get going on his bike, so we can only imagine the fun he had with his mum in Hyde Park.

If only we'd been there to witness it for ourselves...
