Kate Middleton stepped out in an emerald green silk Mulberry frock as she opened the Treasury Gallery at the Natural History Museum in London last night.

Prince William’s wife also sported a new, choppier hairdo for the occasion, reminiscent of Charlie’s Angels in the 70s.

Kate Middleton teamed the £1,400 silk pleated Mulberry ‘Cabbage’ dress with simple black court shoes and a coloured waisted belt with gold detail.

The Duchess of Cambridge previously wore the same dress at a press reception for the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace in October last year.

Kate also showed off a new, sideswept fringe for the occasion, featuring framing around the face, wispy layers and a lighter shade of chestnut brown.

Kate gave a speech as she opened the Treasury Gallery at the Natural History Museum, where she paid tribute to the iconic venue in Kensington, London.

"William and I are just two of millions of people who have passed through these doors, and marvelled at the spectacular wonders of the natural world, housed in this beautiful gallery,” she said.

"I care passionately about what this museum stands for. Being here tonight, seeing some of nature's finest treasures, reminds me just how precious and awe inspiring the natural world is."

The Duchess of Cambridge was given a tour of the Treasury Gallery as she opened it last night, which includes 22 extraordinary specimens such as rare first editions of Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species.
