The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the epitome of elegance on Friday (17 June) as they made an appearance on day four of Royal Ascot in Berkshire.

On the hottest day of the year so far, the royal couple managed to look as cool as can be, with William wearing traditional tails in the scorching heat and Kate opting for a stunning polka dot white and black midi dress thought to hail from one of her go-to designer brands, Alessandra Rich.

Royal Ascot is, of course, known for its strict dress code, and the duchess completed her look with a show-stopping, floral detail headpiece. Kate's flawless monochrome ensemble was giving us serious Audrey Hepburn at the races in My Fair Lady vibes.

Her dark hair was worn up in a timeless low bun, while pearl drop earrings finished off her classic look, and she accessorised with a brown suede clutch and matching pumps.

The royal couple made their big entrance in the traditional carriage ride procession, joined by The Hon. Arthur Vestey and The Hon. Martha Vestey.

While Her Majesty the Queen has been absent from Royal Ascot, other members of the royal family, including Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice and Mike and Zara Tindall, have all made an appearance at the horse racing event this year.
