Due to being fancy royals, Kate Middleton and Prince William have multiple homes. On top of an apartment in Kensington Palace (more like a mini-mansion inside another building, but sure, let's call it an 'apartment'), the couple and their children have a country residence called Anmer Hall, where they spend most of their time.

However! Apparently Kate and Wills have a 'secret' third home, which was given to William by his grandmother the Queen Mother.

According to The Sun, the home (aka Tam-Na-Ghar cottage) is nestled in the Queen's Balmoral estate in Scotland, where the royals spend their summer. The Queen Mother gave it to William before she passed away in 2002.

The Sun reports that the Cambridges have been visiting this cottage since they were students at St. Andrew's University, and that they still stay there when vacationing in Balmoral with family.

Back in 2019, Vanity Fair royal reporter Katie Nicholl revealed that the Cambridges would be staying in their cottage instead of the main castle during their summer vacation, with a source confirming that 'The Queen has a lot of guests coming and to ease the pressure the Cambridges are likely to stay at the cottage. That could have added benefits for everyone as it means more space in the castle.'

The source added that 'It can get quite busy at what they call "the big house" and it’s not especially relaxing even though it’s a holiday. There’s a daily routine which evolves around meal times, several outfit changes every day, sometimes five, and the Queen likes everything to run like clockwork. The focus is on being outdoors and in the countryside walking, grousing, fishing and hunting.'

FYI, the Balmoral estate itself is massive and privately owned by the royals thanks to being purchased by Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert. It has 150 buildings in total, including Prince Charles' private residence Birkhall, and a building called Craigowan Lodge, where the Queen often begins her summer stays.
