Kate Middleton stepped out in one of her most stylish, statement looks to date on Wednesday (4 May), as she attended The Design Museum near her home in London's Kensington.

The Duchess of Cambridge was there to present The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design at the event, hosted by The British Fashion Council.

The Award was created to recognise the important role the fashion industry plays both in society and diplomacy, and is presented by a senior royal to an emerging British fashion designer of womenswear, menswear or accessories "who shows exceptional talent and originality, whilst demonstrating value to the community and/or strong sustainable policies", according to The British Fashion Council.

Kate's outfit in itself was a testament to British design, created by emerging London-based British-Canadian designer Edeline Lee.

The stunning teal Pedernal Dress with a statement gold belt boasts an elegant high draped neck and dropped shoulders, with a flattering fitted flare skirt.

If Kate has inspired you to shop, it's still available in all sizes on the designer's website, although it will doubtless sell out soon.

Kate completed her look with co-ordinating green court shoes and a matching clutch bag, both thought to hail from Emmy London, while her dark hair was worn down in a slightly different style from her usual – a super sleek and straight blow-dry. Gold statement earrings finished things off to perfection.
