Kate Middleton makes generous move for child survivors of horror Southport attack
The Princess of Wales has extended an invitation to the child survivors of the Southport stabbing incident to attend her annual Christmas carol concert. Kate Middleton who is currently recovering from cancer treatment, has invited the young survivors to join her at Westminster Abbey on December 6, as confirmed by Kensington Palace.
This gesture follows a surprise visit she made with her husband, Prince William, to meet the families of the victims in Southport last month. During their visit, the royal couple met privately with the families of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, who tragically lost their lives in a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on July 29 in Southport, as well as the children's dance teacher.
They also met with emergency responders involved in the attack and heard about their experiences at the Southport Community Centre. Despite facing health challenges in what the Prince of Wales described as a "brutal" year, the princess is determined to stage the Together At Christmas service in 2024.

This event marks part of her gradual return to public duties after completing chemotherapy treatment in the summer. According to the Palace, Kate, who paid tribute to the war dead at Remembrance events earlier this month, has chosen a theme for this year's carol service that celebrates those supporting others in need, with a focus on the importance of love and empathy.
"The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities."
The Palace shared: "This year, Her Royal Highness wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need – individuals who have inspired, counselled, comforted, and above all else shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive."
They went on to explain, "This theme takes inspiration from the Christmas story which encourages us to consider the experiences of others and the important human need of giving and receiving empathy."
This year marks the fourth instalment of Kate Middleton's heartwarming Together At Christmas carol service, backed by The Royal Foundation. London's historic abbey will resonate with cheer as the special event unfolds before an audience of around 1,600 guests, showcasing performances by celebrities like Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean, and Gregory Porter.
The occasion, set to be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX come Christmas Eve, will also see members of the Royal Family joining in with the festivities. A host of guests recognized for their personal commitment to helping others, nominated by royal-associated charities and Lord Lieutenants from across the UK, will be in attendance.
Recalling last year's attendance, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, along with Kate’s own Middleton family, were amongst those who enjoyed the Yuletide spirit.
