The Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince William for their latest joint royal engagement yesterday – and she opted for another autumn buy from an affordable label she's been wearing regularly lately.

Kate and William headed to Waterloo station in London to see one of the Duchess' lockdown projects in action.

Hold Still is her collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery. Kate, who's an avid amateur photographer and a patron of the gallery, asked the public to submit their photos of Britain in lockdown in order to create a historical snapshot of the UK during the pandemic.

She recently announced the 100 winning entries from the 31,500 submitted – and these are now displayed in an online gallery and on billboards around the country. One of the winning images now sits near Waterloo station.

The Cambridges also met Sami Massalami Mohammed Elmassalami Ayad who is the subject of one of the shortlisted photos. Photographer Grey Hutton captured Ayad on his first day volunteering for a food bank in east London during lockdown.

Catherine opted for a standout look for her afternoon in the capital. She teamed a bright pillar box red coat by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen with a new designer bag and her floral Amaia reusable cloth mask.

But it's her skirt that we're considered adding to our wardrobe. The Duchess appears to be a big fan of affordable luxury brand Massimo Dutti at the moment.

She was recently photographed wearing a checked coat and jumper by the Spanish label. Massimo Dutti have just confirmed that the pleated midi skirt she wore yesterday is one of their autumn/winter designs.

The 'Pleated skirt with buckle detail' in lead will set you back just £69 – and it's currently available in sizes 8 to 16. Be quick, they don't call it the Kate effect for nothing!
