We all know the sign of a good relationship is being able to banter with your partner – even when you're heir to the British throne. And this week, Kate Middleton and Prince William proved that not only is their relationship full of love, but laughter too.

Speaking about an encounter he had with the couple, Good Morning Britain's Sean Fletcher revealed that the Duke of Cambridge intends to one day run a marathon in Kenya. 'I chatted to Prince William, and he has promised that he will run a marathon in Kenya sometime,' Sean said [via HELLO!].

But, when Sean shared this information with William's wife Kate, he didn't get the response he expected. 'I'll believe it when I see it,' Kate said of William's marathon plans. We absolutely love this.

As well as blessing us all with Kate's funny reaction, Sean, who ran the London Marathon in support of his son's diagnosis with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), also had a lot to say about Prince William too.

'This [his son's OCD diagnosis] is all very new to me,' Sean revealed. 'William’s understanding was incredible, but also his sympathy and empathy with me. He asked me lots of questions. I’ve never met him before, but he’s such a warm man. Like two dads talking together.'

But, despite their love of sports (like playing tennis with US Open champion Emma Raducanu), it's unlikely that we'll ever actually see the Cambridges running in London's most famous race. During an appearance on the day time talk show Loose Women in 2018, writer and runner Bryony Gordon, who had chatted to Kate about her potentially running a marathon herself, said the Duchess replied, 'Oh no, security and all that.' Although we won't be seeing Kate pounding the pavements anytime soon, her sister, Pippa, is a keen runner. In fact, in 2015 at age 32 she took part in the same marathon in Kenya which Prince William hopes to one day run. Opening up about the gruelling run, the now 38-year-old told HELLO!: 'I decided that a marathon was a 'life box' that needed ticking and this year was my time – despite it being one of the toughest in the world, with temperatures rising to more than 30ºC, at an altitude of 5,550ft and with the possibility of bumping into lions or rhinos.'
