We all known that ponytails can be a bit hit or miss. Unless you’re scraping your hair back into a tight, sky-high ponytail like Ariana Grande, you can easily venture into Founding Father territory. Not to mention, the fact that ponytails which are super tight can be super damaging, just like Hailey Bieber’s Met Gala ponytail once left her with a bald spot.

Then, there’s the casual ponytail, a bit of an enigma really but one that Kate Middleton has pulled off effortlessly from time to time.

Now, the Duchess of Cambridge has done it again, this time with what we’re deeming a ‘fancy ponytail’.

So, what exactly is that we hear you ask? Well, to start, Kate’s ponytail sits quite high but nowhere near the crown of her head, meaning her hair tie can’t be seen from the front.

As for the actual pony itself, well there’s a lot going on here. The top section of Kate’s hair is pulled back super sleek without a flyaway in sight (seriously, how does she do it?!). This gives the hair a straight, polished finish on top, which contrasts nicely with the textured ponytail section itself.

Of course, the rest of her hair was styled in gorgeous wavy curls that still have Kate’s signature bouncy, blowdry finish to them.

Kate rocked her sleek hairstyle while visiting the 'Faberge in London: Romance to Revolution' exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum. While her mask covered most of her makeup, the Duchess was sporting perfectly-groomed eyebrows and a gorgeous printed blouse.

Now, don’t mind us – just off to practice our ponytail technique…
