It turns out that the Wales family are an active bunch and have a competitive streak in them, as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all love to watch and play sport - just like their parents.

Now, Kate Middleton has also revealed that her family can get slightly competitive with each other at home, especially her and Prince Wiliam’s youngest child, Prince Louis. The most junior of the siblings is already known for being energetic (and for pulling some wicked funny faces), but as Kate reveals, he is also “mad about rugby” and loves running around doing the tag version at school. When at home, the three siblings enjoy running around with each other too.

If you didn’t know, Kate has been a patron of the Rugby Football League since February 2022, so it makes sense that wee Louis would follow in her footsteps. The 41-year-old recently joined England’s wheelchair rugby league team to celebrate their World Cup win, where she hosted a reception for the team at Hampton Court Palace to mark the success.

She spoke with the team about their 28-24 victory over France and lifted the lid on her own kids' love of sport.

When the team asked Kate if her children were interested in rugby, she said: “We’ve always been slightly competitive with each other. They all love sport. They are at an age where they just love running around.”

She revealed how husband Prince William and the three children watched the final on television. “You’ve set the bar high haven’t you? Which is good,” she told the England team.

The Princess of Wales admitted she joins in with the trio as well, forming what appears to be an active morning routine. “I do it all. Whenever I can squeeze in exercise I do, even jumping on the trampoline with the children before school.”

The family of five have been invited by the England players to go to a training session and show off their competitive side. Taking the team up on the offer, Kate said: “I’d love to come and play. There’s no excuse now. We’re going to have to have a family training session.”

Head coach Tom Coyd said he spoke to Kate, explaining that the Princess recommended “it would be great for us [the team] to go and do an engagement session at the school where her children attend.”

Love that for them!
