Kate Lawler was excited to read close friend Alison Hammond's new book with her young daughter Noa.

The pair met in the Big Brother house 20 years ago, with Kate going on to win the third series of the groundbreaking reality show in 2002.

Proving their friendship remains strong, Kate uploaded a video to her Instagram Stories of 17-month-old Noa holding Alison's children's book Black in Time: The Most Awesome Black Britons from Yesterday to Today, which the This Morning star co-wrote with author E. L. Norry.

Over the video, she tagged book shop Waterstones and wrote: "Came back from honeymoon to lots of lovely new books. Will be recommending one each week. First up @alisonhammond55 Black in Time! A great idea for kids to learn about a whole host of influential and inspirational Black figures from history. Noa approves (clap and heart emojis)."

In the clip, Kate can be heard saying to Noa: "Who's that? Alison. Do you love Alison? Do you love Alison? Awww give Alison a kiss," with Noa then putting her lips together in a kiss.

Alison shared the video on her own Instagram Stories and added a crying Homer Simpson sticker.

The book, which was released in June, highlights prominent Black figures who have helped shape the world.
