Kate Ferdinand welcomes baby girl with husband, Rio Ferdinand
Kate Ferdinand has welcomed a baby daughter with footballer husband Rio Ferdinand.
The reality TV star announced the happy news with her followers on Instagram, sharing details of her newborn daughter's name, alongside a photo of their new addition.
"Shae Ferdinand," read the caption with a white heart emoji. "10.7.23. Our strong little girl."
The Instagram post included a black and white photo showing baby Shae's tiny hands being held by other family members' hands.
Shae is the second child Kate and husband Rio share together. Kate announced her first pregnancy in 2020 and welcomed son Cree in December of the same year, days before Christmas.
Kate is also stepmother to Rio's three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 12 - who he shared with wife Rebecca Ellison before she died of breast cancer in 2015, aged 34.
The couple's new addition comes a year after Kate and Leo confirmed the news they had lost their second baby, after failing to hear a heartbeat in the 12-week scan.
Fellow stars were quick to share their joy at the arrival of Kate and Rio's new family member.
"Congratulations. I love her name," wrote Ferne McCann, who also welcomed a daughter this month.
"Congratulations to you all," commented Billie Shephard, alongside three love heart emojis. Whilst Danielle Armstrong replied: "Awe congratulations darling. Lots of love to you all."
Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand's former football club, Manchester United, also commented their own "congratulations" message on the joint Instagram post.
Kate and Rio tied the knot in September 2019. The two announced their engagement in November 2018, after two years of dating.
