After Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale were reportedly spotted leaving a Golden Globes party together, fans have been wondering WTF is going on between the pair, and whether they should start shipping Pate (or is it Kete?)

And while the comedian has stayed completely schtum about the whole thing, Kate just addressed the rumours on social media, responding to a comment on her latest Instagram post.

"Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson." a fan wrote beneath a photo that Kate had shared of her mother and fellow actress, Judy Loe.

"No that's my mother. Easy mistake," Kate replied, bringing the sass while subtly acknowledging Pete's name. WHAT IS GOING ON? Yes it is a photo of your mother, but what about Pete Davidson please, Kate?

The Instagram comment saga comes as an onlooker told Page Six the pair spent most of their evening together, and then left at the same time. "They were flirting all night and sipping champagne," someone inside the party told the outlet. "They were outside on the patio and left together."

Pete's potential new romance follows his split from Ariana Grande in October 2018, after their five month engagement. Ariana has since said she doesn't want to date in 2019, and hopes to stay single for the foreseeable future.

In response to a derogatory article headlined 'Who is Ariana Dating NOW?', the singer wrote, "Spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it's no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions."
