Jeremy Scott has tapped Karen Elson to star in a new music video to celebrate the launch of Moschino's latest collection.
Instead of staging a traditional show to unveil the womenswear resort 2022 and menswear spring 2022 lines, the fashion designer and British supermodel instead dreamed up the idea of filming an Old Hollywood-inspired vignette that showcases the fashion.
Titled Lightning Strikes: The Musical, the clip opens with Elson singing her original song Lightning Strikes and serving meals in a '50-style diner before popping some money into a jukebox and embarking on a choreographed dance sequence in which she covers hits such as Everybody Dance and Funky Town.
"A few months ago, my brilliant friend @jeremyscott and I started to daydream about collaborating on a project for @moschino where fashion, meets music, meets dance, meets pure joy. He dreamed big and assembled an all-star team," she wrote alongside the video on her Instagram page on Tuesday. "We went to Universal Studios and I was able to live out a dream of mine to sing, act and dance! There are literally so many people to thank on this project."
The video was directed by Scott, choreographed by Denna Thomsen, and styled by Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele. Fashion highlights included a colour-blocked waitress-style dress, a suit with print that resembled a hamburger with matching hat, and a teal blue dress with menu printed on the fabric.
And the Scott couldn't have been more thrilled with the final result.
"What a dream it was to direct my friend and muse Karen Elson, as well as to work with an amazing cast of models and dancers to bring my vision to life!" Scott added.
