Kaia Gerber is known for her fashion credentials and supermodel stardom, but alongside her runway career and high-profile campaigns, the model is a voice for charitable causes too.

The 20-year-old model daughter of 90s icon Cindy Crawford hadn't posted a photo on Instagram since sweetly paying tribute to heroic writer Joan Didion before Christmas.

But now, she's appeared on our feeds again, and for an important reason, too.

She's been working to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which treats those with the toughest childhood cancers and paediatric diseases.

Gerber wrote on Instagram: 'Such an honour hosting the 27th annual @laartshow opening night reception last night to benefit a cause very important to me.

'Thank you to everyone who came out and supported @stjude as they work to ensure that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food - because st. jude believes that all a family should worry about is helping their child live.'

In the photos she shared, the model can be seen donning the outfit she wore to host the LA Art Show benefit, in support of the cause, which comprised of a sparkling Celine workwear dress.

What's more, Gerber also teamed up with fashion photography duo Inez & Vinoodh to create a digital greeting card that supports the hospital.

Of the greeting card, which shows a pop art-style image of Gerber with eye-catching metallic make-up - a nod to Inez & Vinoodh's two decade-long career in high fashion - Gerber also shared a message via her Instagram story.

The greeting card is signed off with xoxo and the model's signature.

She wrote: 'To help bring in more donations for @stjude, I teamed up with @doubledutchcatch and @inezandvinoodh to create this new digital greeting card to benefit the children's research hospital.

She concluded: 'You can use this to send a message of love to your friends and family while donating to St. Jude at the same time! xo.

Gerber - who's dad is American businessman Rande Gerber, and who is a younger sister to 22-year-old brother Presley - has spoken adoringly of her supermodel mum.

To make her mother's 55th birthday in February of last year, she wrote a message on Instagram which read: 'Happy birthday beautiful mama.'

She continued: 'To the person who always makes me do a double take, the woman who gets more beautiful every year, and the mother I can only hope to be like one day... I love you.'

She also shared images via her Instagram story, per the Daily Mail, and referred to Crawford as 'super mum' and her 'style twin'.

Prior to Gerber's work for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, she starred in a special production of The Great Gatsby to support The Foundation for AIDS Research, (amfAR).

She portrayed lead character Daisy Buchanan in the production, derived from the 1920s novel of the same name (which was later made into a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan as its protagonists).

Director and producer of the show, Brando Crawford, previously said, per Town & Country: 'We’re trying to do something that has artistic integrity, so that when artists volunteer to work with us, they’re doing it for the sake of the work.'

He explained that for events such as The Great Gatsby production, rather than getting people to purchase tickets, viewers are asked to donate.

Dolce & Gabbana, as well as amfAR, are the performance's lead sponsors, and are matching every donation up to £11,000 ($15,00).

The donations page for The Great Gatsby production show that people have so far collectively raised just over half of the £5,000 goal.
