Juventus player Stefano Sturaro has issued an apology after he responded angrily to someone trolling his Instagram account – someone it transpired was a 12-year-old.

Oops.

Football Italia reports that Stuaro wrote to the child, "Sorry, Gomorra. Sit down or I’ll embarrass you to such a degree that you’ll cry for three days. Go play with your Pokemon and stop bothering me, you re**rd,"

"Go cry to your mother, you damn child. Actually, I am at home with your mother," he added."

The midfielder later posted a statement on his account in Italian which translates as saying ,"Often we players are insulted via social networks. We ought to ignore them, but at times the instinct prevails. I apologise to anyone who felt affected by this."

Something he probably thought initially looked clever, but has left him looking rather stupid. Not the first time that's happened to him either
