Every family has their own special Christmas tradition, and Jools Oliver has given fans a glimpse into the sweet way she counts down to the big day with her children.
Taking to Instagram, the mum-of-five and designer shared a picture of her son River and their family's Giving Manger.
Alongside the snap, she wrote: "Time for the children and us to me a bit more mindful of others and to be kind The Giving Manger is once again ready to be filled day by day with love 🤍 let’s see how we go. River is the first one to place a straw in the manger for saying ‘I Love you’ and opening a door for me!! That will do to start xxx @thegivingmanger 🍃🌲✨ xxx"
The Giving Manger was created to help families focus on the true meaning of Christmas by encouraging them to be kind to each other and to do something for someone else every day. When they do, they'll place one straw into the manger. The idea is that come Christmas day, the manger will be filled with straw ready for the baby Jesus, and the family can share stories of all the kind acts they did for others over the festive season.
In the comment section of the social media post, Jools revealed the family started the tradition four years ago. Fans loved the sweet idea and took to the comment section of the star's social media post to share their thoughts.
"How incredibly precious/ beautiful," one fan commented, while another wrote: "What a fabulous idea to encourage kindness in our children👏👏"
The Giving Manger is available to buy on the brand's official website and via Amazon. Inside the box, families will find a picture book to explain the tradition, a wooden manger, a bundle of straw and a Baby Jesus figure.
What a lovely idea!
