Strictly Come Dancing fans aren't the only ones surprised by Dianne Buswell and Dev Griffin's exit on Sunday – former contestant Joe Sugg has revealed his 'massive shock' at the result, and added that dancer girlfriend Dianne isn't doing too well.

YouTuber Joe was appearing on Lorraine and admitted that he, "like the rest of the country", was in a state of 'massive shock' after the pair left the competition. When asked whether Dianne was OK, he replied: "No, not really."

He added: "I just think they had so much potential, he [Dev] had so much potential, he was a brilliant student. It just doesn't seem… hmmm, weird."

Host Lorraine Kelly admitted she was 'baffled and bemused' by the result too.

Dianne and Dev lost out to Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Aljaz Skorjanec in last night's dance-off, who the judges voted to save.

The Australian pro-dancer revealed that she was 'heartbroken' on Instagram, especailly because the Radio 1 DJ had 'so much more to give'.

"My heart is broken," Dianne posted. "This guy had so much to give and worked sooooo hard I'm so sorry your journey was cut short you have done me so proud, every week you would say you just didn't want to let me down!

"Dev you sooo didn't you were a dream to teach and you were turning into such a great dancer thank you so much for everything."

Dev told Strictly host Tess Daly that he was "gutted' at the result, saying:"I'm not going to lie I am absolutely gutted, but learning how to dance, hanging out with Dianne and the other pros and celebs… I've absolutely loved it."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC1.
