The last time Ben performed with a British accent was in 1998 for the hit film Shakespeare in Love, so he might (understandably) be a little rusty.
And who better to voice coach him than Jodie? She's renowned for her accent mimicking skills, effortlessly swapping between her native Liverpudlian to Villanelle's Russian twang in Killing Eve.
A source told The Daily Mirror, "Despite the fact everybody loved how graceful and playful Ben was in Shakespeare In Love, that was a very long time ago.
"He knew going into this project that he was rusty as hell when it came to that sort of thing. Jodie helped him get sorted so his accent didn’t sound forced or fake and actually fits the period and tone of the movie."
The Last Duel is a historical drama directed by Ridley Scott. It is set in 14th Century France and is based on real-life events, following the knight Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) and his squire Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) who are ordered to fight to the death after Carrouges accuses Le Gris of raping his wife Marguerite (Jodie Comer).
Ben plays the supporting role of Count Pierre d’Alençon.
We're expecting great things.
