The Gaines family has another budding artist in the mix! Obviously showcasing the best of his parents' artistic prowess, Crew Gaines made his debut with some gorgeous hand-crafted vases, and the selection is extremely limited release.
Mini Pottery Studio
Mom Joanna shared a video last week of the youngest Gaines child taking up a new hobby: pottery. Spinning on his own kid-sized wheel, Crew crafted a menagerie of mini vases for his mom, complete with some minimalist greenery showcased in a few. And of course while we were all busy admiring what a precious kid he is, the fellow moms in the comments couldn't help but wonder — where did she get that pottery wheel?
Fortunately, the champion of fellow mothers that she is, Jo shared a link to the pottery wheel in her stories and it's so cute we almost want one for both our little ones and ourselves. The Make It Real Mini Pottery Studio includes a kid-safe miniature pottery wheel, including an optional dome to show little ones the appropriate form.
You can choose from either the regular version (what Jo linked) or the Deluxe. The regular includes the wheel and dome, centering and carving tools, a bag of clay, sponge, three paint colors and brush, and a playbook. The Deluxe version adds on with extra carving tools, two bags of clay, six paint colors, varnish, three clay punchers, and three clay cutters. The standard version retails for $18.99 while the deluxe is $39.99.
Crew isn't the only kid who seems to be enjoying the fun pottery wheel. "This is such a fun kit! It doesn’t come with a lot of clay, but you can buy extra clay online," one reviewer said.
"We spent an entire day making pottery as a family and enjoyed every minute of it. There is a learning curve - a 9 year old might still need help. But it’s a great craft for artsy people. I think the adults enjoyed it just as much as the children."
"Blown away by the quality and ease of use," said another. "The kids and adults alike love using this!"
A screen-free way to keep kids entertained for hours and moms get cute little mementos out of it? We'll take 20.
