Jo O'Meara has hit back after she was pictured looking less polished than usual while out with her dog, saying she was just grateful to be able to walk.
The S Club 7 star, 43, told fans last year that she needed surgery to resolve a problem with a disc in her back and has continued to struggle with pain.
She has now had four operations and was out walking when she was photographed make-up free bundled up in a warm coat.
However, O'Meara made it clear she wasn't fussed.
Sharing a link to a story about her dog-walking look, she tweeted: "When you're out on a dog walk after months of not being able to walk after 4 back surgeries and the press get you looking your absolute best!
"I’m grateful I can walk ….. so it’s all good."
Fans and the singer's celeb friends chimed in to wish her well after her tweet.
Loose Women star Denise Welch tweeted a string of hearts and wrote: "So glad you’re up and about."
When one of O'Meara's followers said they hoped she's enjoyed being out in the fresh air, she replied: "I did! And yes it’s lovely to be able to get out a bit now, the walk is my fave part of the day lol."
When she shared her back problems in September, O'Meara told fans: "So after almost 20 years pain free my back decided it was time to flake out on me again.
"The pain has been absolutely horrendous! 4 discs bulging, and a bad case of sciatica, yesterday I went for some spinal blockers at the amazing @thelondonclinichospital to get things moving again!"
The singer found fame alongside bandmates Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Hannah Spearritt in S Club 7, who were known for songs like Never Had A Dream Come True and Bring It All Back.
