Jo O'Meara has shared that she is suffering from the "worst pain yet" in her recovery from a back problem that has stopped her being able to perform on stage.

The former S Club 7 singer told fans earlier this year that she needed urgent surgery to resolve a problem with a disc in her back.

When she first shared her back problems in September, O'Meara posted a photo in a hospital gown explaining that she would be unable to perform at Fife Pride.

She wrote: "As you may well know I have had some health issues with my back recently and it has resulted in me needing surgery to remove the disc and fix the problem, the pain has been unbearable, and I have been advised surgery is now my only option and been told this is something that’s needs doing urgently to prevent further damage to my back !"

Although at first her recovery seemed to be going well, she recently shared: "So I got the MRI scan results I didn’t want to see , and I am going to have to go back in for another back operation to try and get it fixed ! I’m totally gutted that it didn’t work the first time , but my back is in a bit of a mess to be honest! I will be taking things easy for the time being to make sure I’m fighting fit !"
