Jesy Nelson unveils a new curly bob in symbolic first picture
Since Jesy Nelson's shock departure from Little Mix last week, her contact with the outside world has so far has been limited and thought-through.
She appeared to retreat from the spotlight back in November, when she pulled out of all TV appearances alongside her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirwall due to illness. This included the final of The Search and the MTV European Music Awards, despite the group (who recently dropped their latest album Confetti) being up for four gongs.
Jesy also went quiet on social media, and an announcement was then made that she would be taking an extended break from Little Mix for medical reasons. There was plenty of speculation surrounding Jesy's future with Little Mix, sure, but when the news finally came on December 14th that she was officially parting ways with the band, fans were left devastated.
Jesy posted a statement on Instagram thanking her "Mixers," but admitting that being in the band had taken its toll on her mental health.
Apart from returning to social media a few days later to thank fans for their love and support, Jesy kept a dignified silence while the world processed her news.
Then it came, the first glimpse of Jesy following her shock announcement, and she looked incredible. With no hair extensions to be seen, and what appeared to be her amazing natural curls, Jesy posed for the camera and captioned the picture with a single heart emoji...
Fans filled her comments section with love. "My favourite face. So happy she’s back. ❤️❤️❤️❤️" said one. Another simply commented: "Your hair is perfect."
Does this image overhaul signify a fresh start for the singer? We really hope so...
