Jessica Simpson, 41, stuns fans in makeup-free selfie: 'Barefaced beauty'

Jessica Simpson is "glowing" in her latest makeup-free selfie.

On Tuesday, the 41-year-old took to Instagram to share a puckered, fresh-faced selfie to celebrate "twos-day" — the 22nd of February, 2022.

"2.22.22 - What shall I manifest tonight?" she captioned the photo.

Simpson's post was met with praise from fans for "keeping it real" and showing off her natural beauty.

"Girl, you are literally glowing. Thank you for keeping it real as always. You look gorgeous and your complexion is flawless!" one Instagram user commented, while another added, "You look so happy!"

"You have gorgeous skin," another said.

"Manifesting this skin," someone echoed. "Give us your skincare regimen."

"Barefaced beauty!" one fan wrote.

"I love that you post with minimal makeup and show these girls you can be beautiful in your own skin," someone else commented.

"Am I the only one that thinks you're prettier without makeup? Goals," another wrote.

While fans have been applauding the "With You" singer for her natural look, the star has been criticized in the past for looking as though she's had work done.

In April 2021, after sharing a family photo with fans to celebrate Easter. fans noted that Simpson's face looked "scary" and suggested the star underwent plastic surgery and dermal fillers.

"Botched much? Girl, you look way too plastic. I'm so sad that your daughters have to look up to this. You're supposed to be a role model. Practice self-love," one user wrote.

"OMG. What the hell did she do to her face?" asked another.

"What’s wrong with her lips?" someone else added.

In 2006, she told Glamour that she was glad dermal fillers aren't permanent because she prefers a more natural look.

"I had that Restylane stuff. But it fades — it went away in like four months," she said. "My lips are back to what they were. Thank God! It looked fake to me. I didn't like that."

In the past, Simpson has also spoken out about feeling insecure about her appearance and choosing to undergo plastic surgery for some relief. In an excerpt released from her memoir, "Open Book," she revealed that she received two tummy-tucks in 2015.

“I wanted to get rid of the stretch marks and loose skin left sagging from my back-to-back pregnancies,” she wrote. “I was so ashamed of my body at this point that I wouldn’t let Eric see me without a white T-shirt on.”
