Jeremy Renner to give first interview since accident that left him in 'critical condition'

It was a shocking start to the year for Jeremy Renner who was badly injured in a snowplow accident that left him 30 broken bones and chest trauma, among other injuries.

The Marvel star has remained relatively quiet about the January 1 accident, beyond sharing a few updates with his fans, but he has now spoken with legendary journalist Diane Sawyer about the incident. The Hollywood actor, 52, revealed that it happened as he attempted to stop his nephew from being run over by the snowplow after the emergency break wasn't fully applied.

Despite the injuries sustained, Jeremy made it clear that he would "do it again" if a family member was in danger and revealed that he was "awake" for every moment of the accident, remembering the searing pain.

In a defiant moment, he said: "I chose to survive. You're not going to kill me. No way."
