Updated on January 20, 2021: Days after Jennifer Lopez said she was unsure what her wedding to Alex Rodriguez might actually look like after postponing it twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rodriguez has also provided an update.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, the baseball player spoke about he and Lopez trying twice in 2020 to tie the knot (which you can read more about below) but hopes, that in 2021, 'you know what they say in baseball, third time's a charm so let's hope'.

But before any weddings take place, Lopez has another event to tick off her list: performing at Joe Biden's inauguration (casual). Rodriguez teased that his fiancé has some surprises up her sleeve: 'She has something really cool, you're gonna be surprised, you're gonna love it.'

Updated on January 15 2021: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are leaving their wedding date in fate's hands as the Coronavirus pandemic rages on.

Having initially planned to wed in Italy last year, J-Lo recently said that she and her fiancé have put their nuptials on hold for the foreseeable. but aren't sure whether they'll be able to pull off their original plans.

'We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that,' she told ELLE US.

'We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it.

'We just have to wait to see where the world lands.'

In the meantime, Lopez has said she's enjoying quality time at home with her family - her twins Emma and Max from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, and Rodriguez’s daughters, Natasha and Ella, from his previous relationship with Cynthia Scurtis - and experimenting with her newly-released JLo Beauty collection, with Rodriguez often lending a hand.

'[Alex] tries everything. We did the mask together on the first night, and I filmed myself and it was just life-changing. I was like, My God, I feel like I have a baby face!' she recalled in the interview.

'He loves it, and now we’re always fighting for the mask since they’re not in full production. [These products] are for anybody who has skin, which is everyone.'

Updated on December 22 2020: Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez have thought about not getting married altogether, after they postponed their nuptials earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview on Monday on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show Radio Andy, the show's host asked if singer and the former baseball player have considered having a relationship like that of actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, who have been together since the 1980s but never married.

‘Oh yeah, we've talked about that for sure,' Lopez replied. 'I mean at our age, we've both been married before, it's like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us? And it's just, it comes down to like personal, like, what do you want to do?'

'There's definitely no rush though. It was really sad because we were supposed to get married in June and we had planned it all. So in March or April, we're looking down the pipe and we're going, “This is maybe not going to happen”.

The star said that she and Rodriguez had originally planned to marry in Italy.

‘I was like, “Okay, we got to cancel everything”. And we had to put out all this money and all this stuff, we were like, "We gotta cancel it." So we, we cancelled it.

‘And then we try to regroup for later in the year, a few months ago. And I was like, “Nope, still not the right time.” So it was just a little disappointing. And then you just think to yourself, well, things will happen in their divine time in a way.'

Referencing Russell and Hawn’s relationship, J-Lo noted: 'But the same thing with like the Goldie thing and Kurt, you think, do you have to? Should we? It just kind of gave us a moment to pause and think about it.

‘And I think it's something that maybe is still important to us, but there's no rush, you know, there's no rush it'll happen when it happens.’

Months after celebrating the one-year anniversary of their engagement, Jennifer Lopez has revealed that the coronavirus pandemic has scuppered her and fiancé Alex Rodriguez’s wedding plans.

Last month, the singer starred on Ellen DeGeneres’ latest at-home series of interviews to discuss her and the former athlete's decision to postpone their wedding.

Now, the singer has spoken further about the couple's nuptials and her heartbreak over having to put an end to their plans for the time being.

On Tuesday May 26, the singer opened up on TODAY about how she and Rodriguez made the ‘disappointing’ decision to put a halt on planning their upcoming summer nuptials as a result of the health crisis.

‘Nobody knows because, really, there's no planning right now,’ she told the show’s host Hoda Kotb. ‘You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out, and it's disappointing on one level.’

While the couple had planned to be wed by the end of the year, the singer revealed that by hitting the pause button on their wedding plans, she and Rodriguez have had more time to enjoy their time together.

‘You know, after the Super Bowl and after World of Dance, after we finished filming it, I planned to take time off, which is what we're doing kind of right now,’ she said.

‘But at the same time, you know, we had a lot of plans for this summer and this year. But everything's kind of on hold right now.’

The mother-of-two continued, revealing: ‘I'm a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans. But I'm also like, “You know what? God has a bigger plan.” And so we just have to wait and see. Maybe it's gonna be better. I have to believe that it will be.’

During her conversation with DeGeneres in April, during which they discussed Lopez home-schooling her two children Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian David Muñiz, the pair got onto the subject of the performer’s wedding.

The show host implied that the couple's big day could’ve been ‘any day now’ if it wasn’t for the pandemic.

‘Any day now?!’ Jennifer exclaimed. ‘Actually, it did affect it a little bit, so we will see what happens now.

‘Honestly, I really don’t know what’s going to happen now, as far as dates or anything like that. We’re just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. It’s something that we’ll have to wait and see in a few months, how this all pans out.’

While the couple have kept their cards close to their chest when it comes to their wedding date, it has been widely believed that the pair had planned to wed this summer following a busy year for the singer.

Over the last year, the star has appeared in the critically-acclaimed film Hustlers and performed at the Super Bowl earlier this year with Shakira.

Last March, the former athlete proposed to the performer during a romantic getaway to the Caribbean.

Earlier this year, Lopez opened up about her plans to get married to Rodriguez, admitting that they’re in no rush to walk down the aisle together.

‘It's so funny because when we first got engaged I was like, “Oooo, we're gonna get married in a couple months?!” You're old thinking comes right back, all that hopeless romantic [stuff] that made me get married three times,’ she said, laughing,’ she told TV show host Oprah Winfrey on her 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus Tour.

‘He's like, “Whatever you want to do, we can talk about it.” I said, “But if we're going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush,'" she explained. 'If that's what we're really going to do, if we're really going to be partners.
