There is no wrong pair of jeans; right now, everything is in. Straight-legs are timeless, leg-elongating bootcuts are a celebrity favorite, oversized wide-legs remain a cool-girl staple, and Taylor Swift might even be bringing back skinny jeans. Which is all to say, there’s a lot to choose from. But right now, the style I want to add to my wardrobe is the somewhat-controversial one Jennifer Lopez just wore. Fortunately, I found her exact style.
We the Free Good Luck Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans
Lopez was spotted in Los Angeles earlier this week wearing Free People’s viral $98 Good Luck barrel-leg jeans. The bow-legged silhouette is one you either love or hate, and I happen to love it. The jeans make a statement, which means the rest of your outfit can be super minimalist. Lopez herself paired them with a simple button-down and lace-up boots, but stars like Julianne Moore and Katie Holmes have worn them with cozy knits and even matching denim jackets.
The jeans are cool and, thanks to their spacious leg, also pretty comfortable. While you can’t go wrong grabbing Lopez’s exact pair from Free People, I also found a few more options. Below, shop 10 barrel-leg jeans from Mother, Madewell, Pistola, and more, starting at just $38.

Bisual Barrel Jeans
You can try the Lopez-approved style for less with Bisual’s jeans, which are on sale for just $38 at Amazon. These jeans are made from a 100-percent cotton denim and are available in three colors: two shades of blue and a sleek black. And while they might be very affordable, shoppers report that they “look expensive.”
Madewell the Darted Barrel-Leg Jeans
Barrel jeans and subtlety aren’t often used in the same sentence, but with this pair from Madewell, the brand proved that statement style doesn’t have to be quite so dramatic. These still have that curved-out shape, but the leg is much more refined. One fan called them the “perfect” barrel jeans for that very reason, writing that they aren’t “overly exaggerated,” which allows them to be their “daily jeans rather than just statement jeans.”
Mother the Half-Pipe Ankle Jeans
Mother is the denim brand celebrities are loyal to—even Lopez has been spotted in a pair of its jeans—so of course the Half-Pipe ankle jeans made my list. This style sits high on the waist and has a roomy barrel leg. It’s not quite as dramatic as Lopez’s Free People pair, but it’s definitely far from understated. This 100-percent cotton pair is available in this classic blue (a color you can never go wrong with), as well as a more summery light wash.
While I often think of jeans as a wardrobe basic, Lopez reminded me that they can be your statement piece. Her exact barrel-leg jeans are still in stock at Free People, and you can shop even more lookalike styles, below.
