Jennifer Lawrence caused a stir at the SAG Awards recently in her custom-made Dior Haute Couture gown.

So it comes as no surprise that the Silver Linings Playbook actress opted for a safer option as she re-set the jumpsuit trend in Santa Barbara at the weekend.

Oscar-nominated Jennifer, 22, continued her winning fashion streak in a midnight blue and black striped jumpsuit at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California.

The Hunger Games star has a penchant for Dior Haute Couture after she was named the face of the brand last year, so it was a surprise to us that she didn’t wear the designer at the weekend.

Instead the actress opted for this edgy Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013 jumpsuit that showed off her slender figure, including tiny waist, long legs and toned arms.

"Jennifer Lawrence's Stella McCartney number is a great example of how jumpsuits can be sleek and slimming," said Emily O'Brien, editor at fashion and social shopping site

Nicholas Hoult’s now rumoured ex-girlfriend styled her jumpsuit with a pair of simple black Casadei heels and two gold rings.

The Silver Linings Playbook actress looked naturally beautiful with a barely-there, glossy make-up look.

Jennifer showcased flawless skin, a peachy complexion and glossy nude lips as she collected her award for Outstanding Performer at the Santa Barbara film festival.

Jen’s tresses were their usual dip-dyed, ombre shade with the ends a striking shade of golden blonde.

Her hair was set in loose curls and looked sleek and polished on the red carpet.

The US actress is jumping on what is set to be a huge trend for SS13, with designers including Henry Holland and Phillip Lim adding jumpsuits to their collections.

"Jumpsuits have been slowly infiltrating our wardrobes for several years, but this season they're firmly in the spotlight," said Emily O'Brien, editor at fashion and social shopping site

"From Henry Holland's playful dungarees to Kinder Aggugini's pretty printed overalls – via a splash of super bright fuchsia courtesy of Phillip Lim – all-in-ones are set to be a show-stopper for SS13."

Jennifer Lawrence isn’t the first star to step out in the trend recently, as celebs including Alesha Dixon and Jennifer Lopez have also jumped on the trend.

Parker actress Jennifer Lopez looked striking in a bright red Vivienne Westwood Anglomania SS13 jumpsuit with matching red heels at the Flyaway Contest Meet & Greet in California.

The mum-of-two styled her jumpsuit with minimal gold jewellery and curled blonde tresses.

Meanwhile Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon stepped out in an edgy Aqua jumpsuit at the London auditions of the show.

The former Misteeq singer was ahead of spring fashion in her graphic print jumpsuit and neon pumps, which she teamed with a peach H&M blazer and statement necklace.
