Jennifer Garner's signature long locks are no more: the actress just unveiled a new haircut, one that feels very autumn/winter 2022.
"I have short hair," she said on an Instagram video, revealing the long bob which frames her face beautifully, before taking viewers through how she styles it with tousled waves – her natural texture.
The cut was the work of A-list hairstylist Adir Abergel, who regularly works with the actress. Both are ambassadors for Virtue haircare, and Garner explains that the brand's 6-in-1 Styler "brings out natural texture," demonstrating that she scrunches this into her damp hair, then dries it with a hairdryer using a diffuser attachment. Once dry she spritzes in some Texturizing Spray – a dry shampoo and a hairspray in one – to "add some lift and volume" followed by the nourishing Healing Oil to finish.
It's quite the contrast to Garner's long chocolate brown locks that she's become synonymous with for so much of her career. Beautifully simple, the transformation looks fresh and youthful while still grown-up and elegant.
The bob is proving to be this year's most versatile haircut. A collarbone length, like Garner's, can be styled various ways – see Jodie Comer's choppy layered lob and Sydney Sweeney's blunt version for evidence. A traditional bob (ending anywhere between the ears and shoulders) is adaptable, too. This season we're loving the 'boyfriend bob' with its boxy finish, and the 'flicky bob' as seen with Maude Apatow's sophisticated 'do at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards.
