Jennifer Garner Fans Show Her Support After Ben Affleck's Howard Stern Interview
Jennifer Garner fans are showing their love and support for the actress on social media after ex Ben Affleck seemingly blamed their marriage for his drinking habits.
After appearing on Tuesday’s Howard Stern show, he said he’d ‘probably still’ be drinking if the pair had stayed married – something which he later insisted was taken out of context.
In the first interview, Affleck told the host his marriage was 'part of why I started drinking… because I was trapped. I was like, "I can’t leave ‘cause of my kids, but I’m not happy. What do I do?" What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.’
Affleck and Garner split back in 2015 after 10 years of marriage, and share three children together. The couple first met while filming Pearl Harbour together and went on to star in a series of other films, including Daredevil and its 2005 spinoff Elektra.
Since Affleck’s appearance on the show, Twitter users have been quick to respond to his comments. Quite clearly all in favour of Jen, some fans even pointed out she was the one who drove him to a rehabilitation centre in 2018 – three years after their divorce announcement.

When you can’t accept that your drinking problem is because of you, you still have a drinking problem. Jennifer Garner didn’t drive Ben Affleck to drink, she did however drive him to rehab probably saving his life.

A day later, Affleck went onto the Jimmy Kimmel Show to call the media out for taking his comments out of context. '[They] made it seem like I was saying the exact opposite of what I said... They said I had blamed my ex-wife and that I was "trapped".
'It made me out to be the worst, most insensitive guy... But that's not true. I don't believe that. It's the exact opposite of who I am and I really wouldn't want my kids to think I would say a bad word about their mum.'
