After months of whispers, the Friends cast finally confirmed the reunion special back in February, but it had to be pushed back due to coronavirus and will now hopefully be filmed in August.
Speaking to Variety this week, Jen said she can't wait for quarantine to be over so they can finally start filming.
"Yes, that will be really great," Lisa agreed. "I can’t wait to do that. I really can’t wait to do that. Yeah, we don’t know everything about it, we need to say. I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well."
Jen added that they know "it's not scripted", to which Lisa replied, "Yeah, no. I will not be Phoebe."
"I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am," Jen continued. "Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really. But yeah."
The 15-year reunion of Monica Geller, Rachel Green, Phoebe Buffay, Ross Geller, Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani was officially announced by the Friends cast in simultaneous Instagram posts.
Each sharing the same picture from their 1985 Rolling Stone cover, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer all posted a unanimous caption, "It's happening..." Meanwhile, Matt LeBlanc went rogue and posted a picture of the M*A*S*H cast with the same caption, obviously.
As well as it being unscripted, it's said to run for an hour and is rumoured to be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. The reunion will take the form of "a retrospective [episode] and interviews with the cast," WSJ previously reported.
Ben Winston, who produces James Corden's Late Late Show, is directing and producing the reunion.
Speaking about the show, Courteney Cox previously said on a podcast with Kevin Nealon: "I'm so excited. We're going to have the best time. It's going to be great."
