There are some people who just don’t seem to age. Take Avril Lavigne: her recent beach selfie made it seems like she’s actually defying the laws of time. While one of Rihanna’s selfies made it seem like she was ageing backwards.
Then you have Jennifer Aniston. Ever since she became our favourite Central Perk employee, she… just hasn’t really changed.
But the most signature part to Jennifer's beauty look? Well, her hair, of course.
Which is why we almost lost it when we found that Jennifer Aniston has finally launched her own beauty brand called LolaVie – and now, we can all have hair like Rachel Green.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Jennifer shared a series of videos and pictures, documenting the behind-the-scenes process to making her products. It shows bottles on conveyor belts, Jen looking at documents alongside her adorable dog and even a video of her tearing up at the end of a photoshoot. Adorable.
Alongside the pictures, she wrote: "Hi world! Meet @Lolavie 👋🏼 . This project has been in the works for a long time and I’m so excited to finally be able to introduce it to you. So much hard work from our incredible team went into making this line — and we’re really proud to say it’s been made WITHOUT all the bad stuff… we’re paraben-free, silicone-free, sulfate-free, phthalates-free, gluten-free, vegan… and of course CRUELTY-FREE, because we love our animals. 🐶🐾 Our very first product releases today, but there’s so much more to come. In the meantime... Enjoy!! ❤️😘"
So what's the first product, we hear you ask? The official LolaVie Instagram account shared a super chic black and white picture of Jennifer with a similar caption. Except, it added: "Our first product, The Glossing Detangler, is officially available today (tap!) - but there’s SO much more to come. We can't wait to hear what you think."
Finally, something that might be able to help me get rid of tangles with snapping off half of my hair. Well, sort of. The LolaVie website stats that, currently, it only ships to "the United States, APO/FPO/DPO military addresses" and "Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Micronesia, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands".
As for everywhere else? It adds:"While we do not ship to other countries internationally at this time, we are hoping to be able to do so in the near future." Fingers crossed, then.
According to the website, the brand also uses bamboo essence instead of normal water, is Leaping Bunny-certified and its products can be used on 100% human hair extensions.
While Jen's Instagram caption seems to suggest that LolaVie is just a hair care brand, we have a sneaky suspicion it'll eventually expand. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, a trademark for LolaVie was filed all the way back in July 2019. It covers beauty products such as “lotions for face and body, non-medicated soaps for face and body, non-medicated preparations for care of the skin, bath gel, deodorant and hair care preparations”.
We first caught wind of LolaVie when Jennifer shared two photos on herself on a photoshoot with the mysterious caption: “Something’s coming”. Upon further inspection, both photos showed only the back of her head, leading us to deduct that hair care was on the way. We know, we know, actual Sherlocks over here.
LolaVie further stoked our suspicions when it mysterious appeared with just three posts on it. The first, a plant on a stack of books (which now makes sense, given the brand's plant-based roots – pun not intended, lol); then, a blurry picture of a wet bottle (surely a shower product?? Is it the detangler? Is it a future product??); and lastly, the back of Jennifer’s hair (giving us the conclusion that hair care was definitely involved).
Of course, this isn’t Jen’s first foray into the world of hair care – she used to hold a partial stake in Living Proof and was the brand’s spokesperson until she sold her share in 2016. Plus, LolaVie was the name of her first perfume, which was launched in 2010.
As for the lotions, soaps and skincare mentioned in the trademark? We’ll take it all.
