Jennifer Aniston has finally addressed the dating rumours between herself and David Schwimmer, after the pair became subject to speculation following the Friends reunion.

Romance rumours started to surface when Jen and David, who played on-and-off couple Rachel and Ross in the series, admitted at the reunion that they had feelings for each other during filming.

While reps for the pair responded to reports back in August, Jen herself has stayed pretty silent on the matter until now.

Finally speaking out about the romance speculation, Jennifer has sadly shut down rumours, telling Entertainment Tonight, "That was bizarre. I could not believe that, actually. Like, really? That’s my brother."

Ah, so that's a no for a real-life Ross and Rachel storyline then?

However, Jen did add that she understands where the rumours came from, explaining, "But I understand it, though. It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies, for dreams to come true."

Reps for both Jennifer and David previously denied reports of a romance last month, but this is the first time we've heard the stars discussing the dating rumours themselves.

Speculation began following the Friends reunion, when David admitted, "I had a major crush on Jen," during the first season of filming, with Jennifer responding by saying, "It was reciprocated."

David went on to explain why his and Jen's mutual affection for one another never translated to a relationship off-screen.

"At some point we were both crushing hard on each other," he said. "But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary and we both respected that."

In response to David's comments (and in true Joey-fashion), Matt LeBlanc quipped, "Bullsh*t", much to the crowd's amusement.

Jennifer then added, "I remember saying to David 'it's gonna be really such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is gonna be on national television' and sure enough the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.

Well, at least these two have finally set the record straight.
