In a new GQ profile, the actor admitted he was still lacking clarity surrounding the end of their nine year relationship in November 2020. The pair were engaged for seven years and share two children - Otis and Daisy.
He explained, "I’ll have a better understanding of why [we broke up] in a year, and an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle.
"That’s an experience that you either learn from or make excuses about," the 45-year-old continued. "You take some responsibility for it, hold yourself accountable for what you do, but then also endeavour to learn something beyond the obvious from it."
When the pair went their separate ways, a source told People, "It’s been amicable and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship."
Following the split, Olivia went public with her relationship with Harry Styles in January 2021, when they were spotted holding hands. The pair met on the set of upcoming film Don't Worry Darling, which she directed and Harry stars in.
Jason was also spotted arm in arm with model Keeley Hazell in June 2021, though the actor didn't touch on either of the former couple moving on in the interview. Here's to hoping Olivia, Jason and their children are all a-OK.
