We can't quite believe it, but Wednesday (14 April) marks 22 years since Jamie Oliver burst onto our telly's as The Naked Chef and stole the nation's hearts with his cheeky chappy attitude and relaxed cooking style.

The national treasure is now a family man with five kids, has countless books under his belt, a restaurant chain, so much more telly and some hugely public campaigns; most notably the one that transformed school dinners forever.

But back in 1999, 23-year-old Jamie was just a fledgling star with a twinkle in his eye hinting as to what was to come.

He shared this gorgeous throwback to himself only a few years older than his eldest daughter. And we can't get over how young he looks!

Posing on the iconic staircase from the series, he captioned the snap: "This staircase....if you know, you know!! 22 years today The Naked Chef first aired on TV. Wow."

And there was an overwhelming reaction from friends, fans and fellow chefs as it tapped into everyones nostalgia.

Jamie followed it up with this brilliant video that really captures that youthful spirit and is totally 1999.

Telling fans: "Since we’re all taking about it...here’s the staircase in action!"
