Sky has just released the trailer for its new Victorian drama series starring James Norton and Eleanor Tomlinson and it looks so gripping. The show centres around a group of women in Victorian London with unusual 'powers' who are treated with disdain by others in society. Not only does it look like edge-of-your-seat drama, the cast is full of some of British TV's most loved faces, from Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson to Happy Valley's James Norton.

Here's everything we know about The Nevers.

What is The Nevers about?

Sky's official synopsis reads: "In the last years of Victoria’s reign, London is beset by the "Touched": people — mostly women — who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities, some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces — to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place."

Who stars in The Nevers?

Outlander's Laura Donnelly plays lead Amalia True, alongside Ann Skelly (Vikings) as Penance Adair. Elsewhere in the cast War & Peace star James Norton plays the drawling Hugo Swann alongside Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging actor Eleanor Tomlinson as Mary Brighton and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) as Declan Orrun, aka The Beggar King.
