Lots of us will have started the new year with a new fitness ambition, but James Corden is setting his goals higher than most: he wants to be "so ripped... like The Rock".

Corden revealed his lofty ambitions in an interview with Oprah Winfrey for Weight Watchers. The two spoke about how he has already lost a stone in the first five weeks of 2021, through a combination of calorie counting and circuit training, which he says he hates and "moans constantly" while doing.

But, beyond just wanting to have a physique more like Dwayne Johnson's, there is also a serious motive behind Corden wanting to lose weight and get fit in 2021.

"I want to change the way that I live," said Corden. "I want to be better for my children and for my family. I don't want to wake up tired, or feel embarrassed when I'm chasing my son on the soccer field and out of breath after three minutes."

"The weight is not the issue, it's the wellness of it I am ready to tackle. I'm going to take this year and work towards getting healthy.

"If 2020 taught us anything it was that taking care of yourself has to be a priority.”

Still, there's no reason Corden can't be both healthy and insanely ripped just like The Rock is there? "In a year's time we are all going to be so ripped," said Corden. "It will be crazy. I will be like The Rock."
