James Argent has shared before and after pictures one year after having the gastric surgery that helped him to shed 13 stone.

The TOWIE star did weigh 27 stone and had said doctors had told him catching COVID at that weight could kill him, but he has slimmed down to 14 stone after gastric surgery.

To mark the anniversary of his op, he posted a picture on Instagram showing him in hospital.

The snap showed Argent on a hospital bed in a robe, giving the thumbs up.

"Celebrating my one year surgery anniversary," he wrote.

"Thanks to @wearetransform for the support. Best decision I've ever made."

Argent revealed his weight loss earlier this year and said he had “never felt happier” and that he was having an "Adele moment", referring to the fact that the 'Rolling In The Deep' singer lost seven stone.

"After being 27 stone, depressed and having doctors telling me I was on ‘death row’ I made the decision to have gastric sleeve surgery with @wearetransform which reduced the size of my stomach and limited how much I could eat," he told his fans on the platform.

"I’ve since lost a total of 13 stone and now weigh 14 stone which surpassed all expectations. I’ve never felt happier or healthier.
